Lot’s of Doctor Appointments Coming Up

Over the next several weeks, including today, we’ll be meeting with several of Maggie’s doctors: a rheumatologist to discuss a potential Lupus linkage, Maggie’s neurologist for a regular follow-up, and some additional doctors regarding some new issues that have developed. Maggie had a pretty rough night last night and we’ll be seeing her doctor today.

Lot’s of different issues raising their head….

The Brick

The Brick

The sandstorm whips by
Leaving its mark,
Smoothing the corners
Of this weathered old brick.

Its’ dimples are many,
Some penetrating quite deep,
A chip here and there
Beg that it be touched.

Its’ bright red façade
Used to be admired from afar,
Its’ beauty now found up close
With the colors of fall.

The glory of this brick
Is not found in its’ strength,
But that many just like it
Also sit on that wall.

GottaBeMobile.com Acquired by Notebooks.com

Some of my friends know that in addition to running Zoe Technologies, I also spend a great deal of time running GottaBeMobile.com, a website focused on mobile computing news and video reviews.

I’m very pleased to announce that GottaBeMobile.com has been acquired by Notebooks.com. The owner of notebooks.com, Xavier Lanier, and I have known each other for quite a while, and this could not be a better fit. I’ll still be writing content for GottaBeMobile, but with this acquisition, I’m now free to focus a lot more energies at home and on the path that God has given our family, and that is a very, very good thing.

The Road

There’s a road that runs far in to the soul,
Where no one dares travel.

Sometimes it winds through a valley
At other times, it climbs a false peak.

Its’ ruts are deep,
Cut from a stream where hope and hurt collide.

A tree here, a patch of fresh green meadow there,
Provides Hope for the weary traveler along that long, winding road.

Our Visit at Hawk Quest – Wow!

We were very fortunate on Saturday to spend several hours at HawkQuest, a bird sanctuary for wild birds of prey: bald eagles, golden eagles, hawks, falcons, and owls. It was one of the most amazing things to see these birds up close. If you have a chance to make it up to Denver, I’d highly encourage you to stop by and take a look at these amazing birds and the work that HawkQuest is doing. The staff there does an amazing job of caring for them. Go to their website to learn more about HawkQuest and setting up an appt, or looking at their event calendar for when they will be in Colorado Springs and other parts of the state.

A special thank you to Mary Ellen, Deb, and the rest of the staff for making our day! Here are some pictures taken by Mary Ellen – yes, I was as scared as I looked!

I’ll post up some more pictures later.
