Maggie gets checked in to the surgery center at 6:00 am (CST), then has surgery for the implant between 7:00 and 7:30. It should last an hour to two hours.

I think someone made an important point in an earlier comment about progress in clinical neurology. Whether or not Ray Kurzweil is right that the pace of knowledge accumulation and change is accelerating towards a singularity, a great acceleration has been occurring, and Maggie is quite young. We don’t know exactly what will be developed during her lifetime, but the developments of the next decades will be vast.
I will keep all of you in my thoughts. I hope this helps Maggie feel better!
