Maggie is now in surgery, will be finished in about 2 hours.
UPDATE 1, 9:09 CST: They just called from the operating room, and are beginning to close up. Maggie is doing fine.
UPDATE 2, 9:25 CST: The surgeon just came by and told us everything went fine, and that Maggie is in recovery. She probably won’t feel the stimulator at the setting it is currently at, but will over the next several weeks as the doctors increase the electrical current. The doctor made two incisions: one in the neck to wrap the wires around the vagal nerve, and another near her left shoulder to insert the VNS device.
UPDATE 3, 10:26 CST: Maggie is resting peacefully in her room, looking forward to going home tomorrow.
Fingers and toes are crossed.
In our prayers today, my friends!
So glad to hear it went well. I hope it provides what Maggie needs for a good long time. May God’s blessings be with you all.

I am one of Jeff Golden’s co-workers. He has asked that my wife and I pray for Maggie. We have added her to our daily prayer list. May He lift you up as on wings of Eagles. May He give you wisdom that only comes from Him. May He provide healing for Maggie. All to His glory. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We’re so glad to hear that everything went as planned and that Maggie is out of surgery. We pray that you all will rest today, and look forward to seeing you when you get home.
Give our love to Maggie!

So glad to hear the surgery went well. I am soooo looking forward to seeing you all. I saw Dax, Anna Catherine and Zoe on Saturday. They looked good. Zoe was cheerful as ever, excited that Maggie was "out of the hospital and in the hotel". Dax was excited about testing and Anna Catherine was enjoying sitting with Grams in the big, green, comfy chair. It was really good to see them.
I sent a hug your way through a video we took at TKD but Chris had problems uploading it.
But I’ll soon give you one in person.
Still praying for you all.
Rob & family, thanks so much for the updates. Been thinking about you guys a bunch lately and am happy to hear that Maggie’s doing better. Hang in there.
Yay, HOME
